Population growth, which boosted urban growth in the XX and XXI centuries, coupled with climate change, imposes new challenges on urban landscape planners, among these the problem of urban drainage becomes a recurring issue as natural space changes to meet the longings of modern cities. These modify and replace the natural flow dynamics with hygienist infrastructures that often can only pass on the problem. It is in this scenario that green infrastructures emerge as a means of solving the problems of urban drainage, mimetizing the processes previously present in space and bringing diverse socio-spatial gains.
